Vertu Ti Android Phone Leaked

Vertu are rumoured to be releasing a new handset, the Vertu Ti, this month.

Vertu are rumoured be developing their very first handset to run on the Android operating system.

Owned by Nokia until very recently, Vertu is a British mobile manufacturer that considers themselves to be in the high end of the market.

Images of this upcoming Android handset have found themselves online in a leak along with rumoured specifications for the Vertu Ti.

Previous handsets from Vertu have usually cost anywhere between £4000 to a whopping £10,000 and they have usually been feature phones, the only exception has been the Vertu Constellation which ran on the Symbian operating system.

If the rumours about this upcoming Vertu Ti are true, then it indicates a huge step for the company.

So far the rumoured specifications are a touchscreen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM826OA processor. It will also run on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and a 1,250 mAh battery.

Although these may seem like rather low end specifications, Vertu have also focused their efforts on the aesthetics of their handsets, however no information regarding the exterior have been leaked.

Vertu have issued a statement responding to the leak which suggests that the handset is in production and have also stated they will make an announcement in London on 12th February.

They said: “Some of the information that you have recently reported on regarding Vertu is inaccurate, including proposed pricing [3,000 Euros] and we look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming weeks.”
