If you use your phone with any regularity, then a contract with it's inclusive minutes will save you money compared to a Pay As You Go deal. What's more, a contract will subsidize the cost of an expensive new handset.

But you may not want to tie yourself into a long contract; who's to say that your needs won't change, or whether you will want a new phone before your contract is up? With the number of new smartphones coming out each month, it's great to have the freedom of a 1 year contract.

Over the last couple of years, networks have been steadily increasing the length of contracts, almost killing off the 12 month contract. Thankfully, our friends at Ofcom have intervened and ruled that all networks must offer 12 month contracts, giving you the flexibility to choose a contract length that is right for you.
