HTC

Everyone seems to be in agreement that HTC are manufacturers of excellent quality smartphone handsets. Originally known as the Hong-Ta Corporation, HTC have cemented themselves as one of the leading mobile phone manufacturers in the world. Based in Taiwan, HTC were founded in 1997 with the original view of producing netbook computers, but following their potential in mobile phone technology, HTC began putting their full effort and focus in making mobile phones in 1998. Following some successful trials, HTC made their first major product launch in the year 2000, which proved to be a pioneer in innovative technology bringing a new experience of touchscreen smartphone to the consumer.

As one of the most innovative companies currently operating in mobile phone technology worldwide, HTC have introduced new features at every turn. 2002 saw the first Microsoft-powered smartphone, 2005 saw the first ever Microsoft 3G phone and in 2008 HTC brought Android power to the smartphone world. Following this impressive trend, HTC then emerged at the forefront of technology once again, releasing the HTC Evo – the first 4G capable phone.

With its strong business partnership with computer giants Microsoft, HTC have been seen as the biggest rival to Apple’s smartphone, the iPhone. The release of Windows 7 for personal computers in October 2010 saw HTC release the Windows Phone 7 OS, which is considered by most to be the best Windows mobile phone technology to date and will be launched on many HTC smartphones.

HTC are always one step ahead of other manufacturers and are a popular choice amongst the masses, especially those with a dedication to brand new technology. Currently, the HTC company are known as the 31st most innovative company in the world, which takes up 39% of Android smartphone shipments.
