Acer C6 Liquid Express Review
Acer Inc. is a Taiwanese electronics company that first made its name internationally as a manufacturer of personal computers. Since then, it has ventured into other aspects of the electronics market and now has its several product lines of Smartphones. One of its more popular Smartphone lines is the Liquid Express, the latest version of which is the Acer C6 Liquid Express, also known as the Acer Liquid Express E320 through several mobile service providers.
Measuring 115mm x 60.8mm x 13.4mm and weighing 135g, this Acer Smartphone has an Android Gingerbread (version 2.3) operating system. It is available in three colours: dark burgundy, pearl white, and titanium grey. It has a 3.5in capacitive touch screen with a 320px x 480px resolution. Its 350MB internal memory is expanded by the 2GB microSD card that comes with the phone. It also comes with a 5MP camera, an FM radio, GPS, and more.
What We Like
The Acer C6 Liquid Express comes with near field communication or NFC technology which allows it to interact with other devices that have the same technology, allowing for faster transactions and exchanges. This is a great innovation for those mobile users who are always on the go and use their mobile as an extension for business and leisure.
The size of the screen makes surfing the internet rather easy especially since the phone is also Wi-Fi-ready and has quick access to the internet in Wi-Fi hotspots. The images and texts are very clear, thanks to the screen resolution.
While the internal memory is rather small and the 2GB microSD card that comes with the phone can easily be filled, the memory card slot actually has a maximum capacity of 32GB, making memory not as much of an issue as has been brought up by others who have quibbled about it.
What We Don’t Like
The lifespan of this mobile phone’s battery per use is unfortunately extremely limited and while recharging the battery is always a ready option, it may prove to be cumbersome when a mobile user is travelling. Even with the acknowledged troubles Smartphones have had in terms of battery life, it seems the one that comes with this particular Acer mobile has an even shorter lifespan than most.
Using the keypad can also prove to be difficult, especially for those users who may happen to have larger fingers. The keys are rather small and trying to hit the precise keys takes time.
Conclusion
Compared to other Smartphones, the Acer C6 Liquid Express is somewhat acceptable but it does have its problems. The issue regarding the memory can be easily remedied with a separate purchase of a microSD memory card with up to 32GB. However, the issue concerning the battery may be more difficult to contend with, especially if the mobile user uses their phone regularly to access the internet and to make calls. Same goes for the keypad since there is simply no way to adjust the size of the keys. These two issues may prove to be deciding factors for some people.
I got this phone from T-mobile and I can say that it's pretty good. Not perfect, but good enough. At first I was irratated about it's battery life! But that's what you get for buying a touchscreen phone. Touchscreens really burn the life out of the battery! (see what i did there?) Anyway, google maps works fine and accurate when I connect this to my home wi-fi. But on other netwroks, it's not as good. I really like the Google Sky Map and SkEye! Point this baby up and it will tell you what constellation you're looking at! Pretty cool! Anyway, it has great deals and the price is good for my budget. That's what made me buy this phone. I recommend it.
