It is finally here – the mobile phone that the whole world has been waiting for since it was announced that there would be a fourth generation of the model. The Apple iPhone 4 has been much anticipated and flew off the shelves as soon as it appeared on them. Now all the furore has died down and it is indeed possible to purchase an Apple iPhone 4, or indeed get one as part of a contract, it is time to examine the advantages and disadvantages that the handset has. Is it really worth waiting for or should you choose another model of phone?
Firstly, it is important to note that Apple has made several improvements to the previous model of iPhone, as per customer feedback. For example, one of the main features of the Apple iPhone 4 is the high resolution display. When this is paired with the 5MP camera, which has enhanced functionality, every user will be over the moon with the images that can be captured on the handset. There is also the option to perform HD video recording and another camera that is used solely for video calling. All of these new or improved features prove that the Apple iPhone 4 handset is certainly more user friendly than the previous version, but what about the other features and the aesthetics?
The aesthetics of the Apple iPhone 4 are absolutely gorgeous. It is relatively slim if a little chunky in terms of the 137g weight. It has a stainless steel body and so will appeal to users looking for a phone for business and pleasure. In fact, the body gives it a touch of class that it can be argued the previous iPhone did not have. The touchscreen is incredibly high in terms of quality at 3.5 inches and with a resolution of 960x640 pixels. As such, the handset is undoubtedly gorgeous and is enough to make your mouth water!
The Apple iPhone 4 also has a significant list of features, from the extensive connectivity lent by Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, EDGE, WAP and HSDPA right through to the list of apps that can be added to the handset to improve the iPhone experience for the individual user. Speaking of apps, the Apple iPhone 4 now has a multitasking feature that ensures that you can use multiple apps without the phone either freezing or slowing down. This is a response to previous problems and definitely works as it should.
However, despite the extensive list of positive features and functionality here, there are a few niggles. One is obviously the cost because purchasing an Apple iPhone 4 can certainly cost more than many people can afford, especially if you chose the 32GB version over the 16GB version. That aside, there are functionality niggles too. For example, it is difficult to get any reception and this can make it extremely difficult to be able to do the basic function of calling anyone. That defeats the point of having the mobile phone in the first place. If you can get past this slight issue though and learn how to hold the handset correctly so it does not cut off the signal then you will find the Apple iPhone 4 a joy to use.
The new design takes a bit of getting used to, but all the little improvements add up to a whole new experience.. and I personally haven't had any issues with the antenna - I'm thrilled to bits!
