T-Mobile Vivacity Review
Though T-Mobile is known more for its cellular networks, the company indeed has its own line of conventional phones and Smartphones that can be selected from by those wanting more affordable units otherwise known as budget phones.
However, the fact that a phone carries the T-Mobile logo should not confuse users into thinking that the company indeed manufactured the phone. Case in point is the T-Mobile Vivacity which was actually manufactured by Chinese company ZTE. Measuring 115mm x 58mm x 11mm and weighing just 118g, this Smartphone is available in two colours: black and white. It pays homage to Apple’s iPhone by way of its overall look and design. Its internal memory is a mere 512MB but this can be extended to up to 32GB by way of its external memory card slot. It also has a 5MP camera with flash, audio and video players, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, and Wi-Fi.
What We Like
The T-Mobile Vivacity comes with the Android Gingerbread operating system and while this is no longer the latest in terms of Android, what with the Ice Cream Sandwich creating a sensation in the mobile world, it does allow users easy access to the Android Market, the place to search for and download applications aplenty.
This Smartphone is highly affordable and can even be gotten for free if one decides to sign up for a plan with T-Mobile. This makes it an alternative worthy of consideration since other Smartphones tend to cost much more nowadays.
The 3.5-inch screen is the ideal size for both internet surfing and video viewing. It would be have been nicer had it been just a smidgen larger but the fact that the picture and video quality is exemplary makes the screen’s size a negligible point of contention for people who know how to appreciate commendable quality.
What We Don’t Like
Because the phone is as affordable as it is, there are obviously considerations that had to be taken in order to get the price down. This is easily reflected in the kind of materials chosen for the actual exterior of this T-Mobile phone. Its plastic casing appears to be relatively flimsy and somewhat inferior, possibly causing one to worry the casing may break if squeezed hard enough or dropped. Though noticeably inspired by the iPhone, it has chosen cheaper alternatives like plastic to the more expensive steel and glass that make the iPhone the iconic mobile device that it is.
Conclusion
In a competitive market, the T-Mobile Vivacity is bound to lure customers who want a handy Smartphone at a fraction of the cost that its competitors are asking for. It has the essentials that make it a good phone and may even be something to hold on to for a couple of years or so before purchasing a newer Smartphone with more advanced technology and features. After all, phones slated for release want to be able to present consumers with the latest components that will help make their mobile experience much easier and faster. For now, this phone will do.
Hey guys! I got one of these just to test it out and I can say that it's a great phone. It does multi-touch and so far it's working well, for me. The features on this phone is satisfying for a £10 24 month contract. It's pretty good and it convinced me to get 3 more for my family. I'm pleased with this phone. I recommend it.
